Over the past 15 years, Christy Litster (co-founder of Artners along with her husband, Darryl Litster) has been an active member of the Windsor-Essex Ontario Arts Community. In the first few years of starting her own business, Christy Litster | Art & Illustration, she built a powerful network by learning to create opportunities for local under-represented artists. She found, early on, that there were a plethora of talented individuals who either felt like they had difficulties gaining exposure or didn't fit into already well established groups. At this time, she made it her mission to find artists walls to share their work. As her network grew, she realized the opportunities for collaboration in the region between artists, designers, performers and musicians. She partnered with her husband Darryl to create 2 successful large scale multi-arts events titled "SKIN | Windsor's Alternative Arts and Culture Show" in 2013 and 2014. These events showcased over 150 participants and was key to stimulating growth in the arts Windsor-Essex County. Following this, Christy hosted 35+ arts events, all on a volunteer basis, to help bring exposure and connection between artists and their audiences.

Because of these efforts, Christy was awarded the very prestigious City of Windsor Mayor's Arts Awards for Individual Artist for her dedicated service to the Windsor-Essex arts community.

Aside from this work, Christy gained a reputation as a skillful planner and accomplished multidisciplinary artist. While her main passion has always been painting, her community outreach projects and public art projects are what she has built her reputation on. Because of this work, she has built powerful relationships with clients which include, but are not limited to, Art Windsor-Essex (formerly Art Gallery of Windsor), The City of Windsor Mayor's Office, The Town of Essex, Arts Society of Kingsville, and House of Sophrosyne (women's addiction recovery centre).

Represent
Artners was created with the intention of making powerful connections between artists and clients in the Windsor-Essex County, Ontario region. We are creating a database, called Artners Artists Rolodex, for artists who are interested in working with us and our clients on unique and exciting local projects.

What do we do? We connect artists with clients and handle all the administration, planning, and in many cases, materials cost. What does this mean for the artist? You get to do what you do best: create! Our goal is to reduce the cost of materials by creating an Artners inventory of supplies that artists can use on projects which will mean that artists get paid well, and clients have the benefit of working with professional planners with a combined 15+ experience in project management. Our clients may be private, corporate, and even municipal. We've built strong relationships in the community, and would love to give artists the opportunity to build powerful portfolios and connections while getting paid a living wage.

Artists are hired by Artners on temporary representation contracts. They are not bound to Artners for anything outside of the projects we've hired them for. Artists will be included on working with clients, so that their needs and the clients needs are best met. We value building relationships and strive to keep our projects transparent for all involved.
