Mixed Media

There is something absolutely thrilling about the freedom of working in mixed media. Most pieces start with much pacing through my studio, grabbing whatever medium, tool, and surface that pops out at me. Every piece begins with the question, "Is this crazy enough to actually work?" And, 9 times out of 10, it is! Mixed media allows a strange flow of experimentation to move through me. I feel like much like I am channeling a past life as some sort of alchemist, using a variety of elements to create something even more powerful than the sum of it's parts. All the little voices pop through this work in a variety of colours, textures, and often faces that come out to tell their story. With mixed media more than any other traditional medium, I act as a conduit for the work itself to be expressed exactly as it is: fully energetic.
